2015 GMC Syclone
The vehicle you would never be able to logically explain why you bought it. But whenever you say you drive one, you cant help but feel you made the right choice. That is what the 2015 GMC Syclone should feel like. A single cab with bed cover, 3 seats, Twin turbo, lowered, 20 inch rim sport truck.
The first generation of the GMC Syclone was an amazing truck, that received the love of many people and respect on the streets. It was the sport truck to have at the time, and its badassery is still worshipped today, as the prices for one aren't the same as any 90s GM truck.
For this new, 2015 Version GMC needs to stick to tradition and fit it with a Twin Turbo 6 cylinder engine. And that is just what the 4.3 Litre would be perfect for. Add a couple of turbos to make it get 380-400HP (To beat the Ford Tremor) and 420-430 Torques (Same goal). Economy should hover the high tens city and high 20s highway. To keep all that power well in hand, add the 8 speed sports automatic that will be fitted in the Corvette in 2015 so it really is up to modern standard. Last but not least, lower the truck and improve the steering rack to make it more agile like it should be. RWD should be standard, and AWD optional.
On the outside, this mean machine will have its classic black paint and red accents as its father, with a tasteful (read unexaggerated)body kit, the classic bed cover, and nice exhausts to give it the vocals it deserves. Step in to find the bucket seats of an SS Camaro, or something suitable. Steering wheel could be the same, but add some alcantara, as well as some sporty touches in the dash to go with it.
Price for this beast would be around what the Ford Tremor goes for. $38k to $40K, for a tribute to one of the most significant performance machines done by GM.
Special recognition to Lagansteno who helped out with ideas, and has copyright stuff

They just need to make a new stepside short bed.

Something like the Cheyenne concept then?
![]() 05/12/2014 at 17:05 |

Hmmm, I wonder where parts this idea came from...
![]() 05/12/2014 at 17:06 |

Why not go full retard and give it 47ohp and some 520 torques?

Caddy twin turbo 6 would be a better choice for engines since it already exists and its based on the same engine that comes in the truck.
![]() 05/12/2014 at 17:12 |

The Caddy uses the 3.6L V6 as a base, the truck uses the 4.3L

I don't think GM wants any part of Ford's mistake.

The Colorado/Canyon use the 3.6, not the 4.3. Cadillac has a twin turbo v6 based on the 3.6 used in the CTS V-sport. I thought we were talking about the Colorado/Canyon not the full size Sierra, since the previous syclone was based on the midsized s10 and not the full sized.

Buuut, his idea uses the Sierra as a base.

Anybody that buys a sport truck has already gone full retard.

that truck needs to be built!

It's a unicorn that only GM knows the whereabouts of.
I probably couldn't afford one, even if they released it. But I've got family members who would kill for one.
![]() 05/12/2014 at 17:32 |

they just need to do the 5 lug wheels that's all I ask for
![]() 05/12/2014 at 17:35 |
|
This. But without turbo.
![]() 05/12/2014 at 17:35 |
|
Supercharged, Haha?
![]() 05/12/2014 at 17:36 |
|
Yup, They should also make the Typhoon version as a limited production model.
![]() 05/12/2014 at 17:41 |

I'd much prefer it with the 6.2 V8 but that could be the only option.

They should base it on the Canyon and not the Sierra but I like where your mind is at. stuff the caddy V-sport twin turbo v6 with all wheels drive in a reg cab 2015 canyon(I know a reg cab doesn't exist but it should). if they made that and priced it somewhere under 40K I would probably buy one.

That or N/A. I know it goes against the whole original Syclone but does every new performance car or truck really have to be a small displacement boosted unit? That's incredibly boring.

Man I love those!
![]() 05/12/2014 at 21:10 |

Pretty much, but they need to sell it as a GMC and Syclone to keep the tradition and make cool Photoshoots of both cars doing burnouts. Also, half-assed-not-quite-Cadillac-but-better-than-Chevy-Luxury

Haha I did thought of you when I wrote it!
![]() 05/12/2014 at 21:14 |

Because it STILL isn't FULL RETARD to go against the RAM SRT-10!
![]() 05/12/2014 at 21:15 |

Hahah I think thats a better idea
![]() 05/12/2014 at 21:16 |

I thought of the Sierra since I haven't seen a render of a single cab Canyon, and THAT would be more difficult to explain without images.

Yeah, Ford did screw up an otherwise really cool product. Issue here: Ford shouldn't have put the Eco-Boost but rather the 5.0 Coyote from the mustang, concentrate more on its handling and lower ride height, and calling it not a Tremor but an SVT Lightning. Oh, and LOTS of badass publicity
![]() 05/12/2014 at 21:19 |

I thought about it! I really was going to put that engine, but I wanted to keep the tradition of the 6 Cylinder Twin Turbo that the older Cyclone had
![]() 05/12/2014 at 21:21 |
|
I thought about it too late! It is a better idea with the Canyon, only issue is I can find any pictures with it in single cab. Also, The Twin Turbo Cadillac engine would've been a better choice. I feel bad now haha!

Actually I think the Ecoboost was a fine engine for it, and the ride height along with the possibility of 4WD was a plus in my eyes. The price was the real killer here. When they announced it or was touted as a cheap, stripped out, powerful truck. What we got was one filled with luxury crap, and an inflated price tag. It was almost the perfect starting point for either a fun, practical daily driver, or a killer sport truck project.
Either way, they left everyone disappointed. The lack of sales prove that.

Since the Colorado/Canyon already gets the 3.6, wouldn't it make sense if they shoved the TT3.6 in the Canyon?
![]() 05/12/2014 at 22:08 |
|
Yup, I just hope this will make Ford scared of releasing cool stuff like that. Oh well, the SVT Raptor is the cash cow of cash cows.
![]() 05/12/2014 at 22:09 |
|
Yeah, I thought of it as I read the comments. I kind of think I screwed it up
![]() 05/12/2014 at 22:16 |

You forgot the Mag-Ride!

There actually isn't going to be a single cab Canyon sold here. The smallest is gonna be an extended cab.
![]() 05/12/2014 at 22:20 |
|
Haha if the Escalades got it, this should!
![]() 05/12/2014 at 22:21 |

Well I'd hope so, it's a sports truck!
![]() 05/12/2014 at 22:34 |

If they want to make a Silverado SS with the LT4, I am all for that though.
![]() 05/12/2014 at 22:42 |

Yeah, the Cheyenne should come with a V8. But the GMC Syclone is better off with Twin Turbo V6 IMHO
![]() 05/13/2014 at 01:40 |

You haven't found a picture of a regular cab canyon because it does not exist. only extended cab and crew cab will come to north america.

Precisely

Speaking of which, I want new Ram SRT with a Cummins, RWD and manual and at least 700hp and 1100 torques.

Why wouldn't anyone want one?
